Tavaksay: a valley of waterfalls in Uzbekistan

The route through the valley of waterfalls can suit travelers of different fitness levels — there are almost no long exhausting climbs or hard-to-reach areas here. The entire walk runs along the river. It is quite difficult to get lost here.
Along the route, there are several small water rapids and two waterfalls. The largest of them is Greater Tavaksay. The climb to it is one of the most difficult sections of the path, but those who find themselves at the top of the cliff will be rewarded with magnificent views of the surroundings.
You can get here by car or commuter train. It is about eight and a half kilometers from the station to the beginning of the route. Often, right at the stop, travelers are met by locals who offer to give guests a ride to the start of the walking trail. It is better to have cash with you to pay for such services.
The length of the trail to the waterfalls, which will need to be covered on foot, is about four kilometers one way. So as not to get hungry, it is better to take a snack with you. It is also better to have a sufficient supply of water.
Another tip concerns the time of year: it is better to go here in spring, since by summer the grass will simply burn out under the sun, and the photos will no longer be so bright. In addition, you need to keep in mind that during some seasons of the year, travelers may encounter small water spills that will need to be forded, but this definitely should not spoil the impression of this magical place.
