Victory Park: what to see

Tashkent's Victory Park was opened on May 9, 2020. The initiator of the memorial complex was the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the opening itself was timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Victory in World War II.

The Museum of Glory is located in the western part of the park. In its halls, you can see a large number of exhibits related to the events of World War II. The exhibition pavilion has two floors, the upper of which presents historical documents and photographs from the family archives of Uzbekistan residents. Directly above the museum building is a sculptural composition with figures of defending soldiers.

The second part of the park is open-air. It is divided into thematic zones. Their names are: "The Horror of War", "The Rear", "Grief and Sorrow", and "Victory and Joy". An exhibition of military equipment is also located here.

Victory Park is a 25-minute walk from the nearest Beruni metro station. Tourists can walk from there, take a bus, or a taxi. Fares for any type of transport in Tashkent are quite low.

Entrance to the park is paid. The complex is open until 17:00. The territory is almost devoid of vegetation, so in hot weather, it is better to take headwear with you.

If you want to delve deeper into the country's history, you can also visit the State Museum of Timurid History or the Center of Islamic Civilization.
