History of the exhibition space

The State Museum of Timurid History was opened in the autumn of 1996. At that time, the country celebrated the 660th anniversary of the birth of Amir Temur. Guests will surely find it interesting to look at the museum building itself — it combines the features of medieval and modern architecture. The dome of the structure, with its color and shape, resembles the top of the Amir Temur Mausoleum in Samarkand.

Exhibition

As the name suggests, the exhibition space introduces visitors to the period of the reign of Amir Temur and his descendants. You can learn about the everyday life, architecture, and rulers of those years. The museum's collection contains copies of historical documents and paintings, models of famous structures, coins, and archaeological artifacts. In the central part of the main hall of the museum, a facsimile of the Uthman Quran is installed.

It is most interesting to go to the museum with a guide. This service can be paid for at the ticket office. The excursion lasts about 30 minutes. Entrance tickets will need to be purchased separately. Both cash and bank cards are accepted here.

After a walk around the museum, you can look at the famous building of the "Uzbekistan" Hotel or walk to the Tashkent House of Photography.
