"Eternal City" in Samarkand
The "Eternal City" tourist complex is located at a distance from the main sights of Samarkand. Nevertheless, today it is one of the popular places among travelers from all over the world. During the day you can take some unusual photos here, and in the evening — have dinner in a restaurant with a national flavor.
A walk through the "Eternal City"
The "Eternal City" is a complex with several modern buildings where you can get an idea of the architecture of Uzbekistan. On the territory, there are several "streets" named after cities and regions of the country. The structures copy the style of real existing buildings and squares.
In the "Eternal City", there are small cafes, souvenir shops, restaurants, and a banquet hall. Entrance to the complex territory is free, so even if shopping is not in your plans, you can just take a walk here and take some interesting photos.
In the evening, music is turned on in the "Eternal City", and the buildings are beautifully illuminated, so you can build your travel plan here in such a way as to arrive in the daytime and walk until sunset. About a 20-minute walk from here, near the western part of the rowing canal, there is an interesting area with light and music fountains.
The "Eternal City" is part of the zone called "Silk Road Samarkand". Here there are several modern hotels, a rowing canal, and many walking paths. Guests of the city can stay in one of the complex's hotels and go to the main attractions of Samarkand by taxi. The way to Registan Square or the Shakhi Zinda mausoleum ensemble takes about 15–20 minutes.
