Tashkent Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden of Tashkent is located not far from the city zoo. You can easily manage to walk around these complexes in one day. In summer, you can hide from the exhausting heat in the Botanical Garden: experts note that this is one of the coolest places in all of Tashkent.
The first Tashkent botanical garden was laid out on the territory of the former governor-general's garden in 1922. Its area was about eight times smaller than the modern one. The laying of the new Botanical Garden in the north-east of Tashkent began in the 1950s.
Today, more than ten kilometers of paths are laid across the territory of the garden. Here you can take a walk or, for example, ride a bicycle. There is a rental station on the territory of the complex itself.
The botanical garden is divided into thematic zones. Here, for example, there are areas with plants of East Asia and the Far East, an exposition of mountain landscape, and the Green Labyrinth. In the northern part of the Botanical Garden, there is a greenhouse with an area of 1 200 square meters.
The garden is incredibly transformed in autumn. In October-November, when the leaves take on golden, crimson, and yellow hues, this is perhaps the most picturesque location in all of Tashkent.
After a walk through the garden, you can go to the zoo or drive to the central part of the city to see the modern Tashkent City Park.
