Tashkent Chimes

Address
3B Amir Timur Avenue
Metro Amir Temur xiyoboni

The chime towers near Amir Timur Square are one of the city's unobvious attractions. Despite the fact that the structures are somewhat lost among the modern high-rise buildings of central Tashkent and green foliage, they have a rather interesting history.

Tashkent Chimes: a symbol of victory

Originally, only one tower stood on this site. It was built in 1947, designed by A. Mukhamedshin and Sh. Muradov. The structure was erected as a monument to the victory in World War II.

Interestingly, the clock for the chimes was brought from East Prussia. The initiative belonged to the watchmaker Alexander Eisenstein. Later, he became the caretaker of the chimes.

Restaurants and bars are located in the annexes

By May 9, 2009, the Tashkent complex was restored. At the same time, a second identical tower appeared here; it is located closer to Istikbol Street. In the past, the "Buratino" cafe was located on this spot.

Today, bars and restaurants are located in the annexes to both towers. They are often classified as premium segment establishments.

Heading here, you can also see the Tashkent House of Photography, the "Uzbekistan" Hotel, and the Tashkent Broadway.
