Yangiabad: trip from Tashkent
Yangiabad is a picturesque former mining town in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan, located about 120 km from the capital. The nature here is very beautiful, there are several places to relax, and the town itself attracts visitors because many interesting historical buildings have been preserved here.
Walking around Yangiabad
In some articles about Yangiabad, this settlement is called a "city lost in time". Locals say that until recently this was true: life here seemed to have stood still. But in recent years, the situation has begun to change: now more and more tourists and travelers from other regions of Uzbekistan come to Yangiabad.
First of all, it is worth taking a walk around the town itself. Here you can see many unusual historical buildings that are atypical for this region. The fact is that Yangiabad was built by German settlers who came here to work in the uranium mines in the last century. Now the mines are closed, and the population of Yangiabad has decreased several times over.
After walking along the streets of Yangiabad, you can head east towards the mountains. On the way, you will come across stunning natural views. About two and a half kilometers from the town, there is a tourist base. Here you can have a snack, relax, or stay overnight. Further on, a hiking trail into the mountains begins.
It is convenient to get to Yangiabad by your own car or taxi. You can order a car in aggregator apps or find a driver, for example, at the Buyuk Ipak Yuli (Maxim Gorky) metro station.
If you prefer unhurried walks through the forest, then instead of Yangiabad, you can go, for example, to Sukok. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region.
