The Museum of Railway Techniques is located next to the Central Railway Station of the city (it is also called the Northern one). On the vast territory of the exhibition space, you can see many exhibits related to the railway: here there are huge diesel locomotives, and small open cars in which you can take some interesting photos.

A walk through the museum

The museum was opened in the summer of 1989. The idea of its creation appeared a year earlier, during an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Central Asian Railway.

Today's exposition is a collection of railway exhibits from different countries of the world. In the museum, you can see, for example, a VL electric locomotive, an SOm17 steam locomotive, a TEM2 diesel locomotive, and even a double-decker car with an observation dome. Some exhibits are open for entry: visitors can go inside and feel like real train drivers.

The exhibition space is located in the open air, which should be taken into account when planning your trip: in summer it can be unbearably hot here. Recently, on the side of the museum facing the roadway, various cafes began to open. After a walk around the museum, you can relax in them and have a snack.

You can walk to the museum from the "Tashkent" metro station. You can pay for the visit both in cash and with bank cards.

Not far from here is the Ming-Urik Settlement Museum. If you walk further, you can reach the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
