"Suzuk-Ota" Complex in
"Suzuk-Ota" is a memorial complex that includes a mausoleum, a mosque, and several houses for artisans. On the territory, you can get acquainted with the architectural heritage of Uzbekistan and take some unusual photos.
Hazrat Sheikh Mustafokul Khoja, also known as Suzuk-Ota, was a mentor of craftsmen and an expert in Islamic science and philosophy. He once settled in this area and refined the surroundings, turning a lifeless territory into a blooming mahalla. According to legend, the young man, having found himself here, performed a miracle — with the help of just one phrase he cleared a local resident's field of weeds. After this story, Suzuk-Ota became one of the most respected people in the district.
The mosque and mausoleum on the territory of the complex were built in the second half of the 14th century on the initiative of Amir Temur. In the last century, the structures of the ensemble fell into disrepair, but thanks to the requests of local residents, the city authorities began the restoration of this ancient monument. The complex acquired its modern look after the restoration work in 2017. They were commissioned by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The "Suzuk-Ota" complex is located in the western part of the Uzbek capital. Not so far from it are other iconic sights of Tashkent: Kukeldash Madrasah, Chorsu Bazaar, and the People's Friendship Palace.
