Hazrati Imam Ensemble
If you want to take some photos at the historical sights of Tashkent, you should definitely visit the Hazrati Imam architectural ensemble. On the territory of the complex, there are several diverse buildings, and right next to it is the Center of Islamic Civilization — this is one of the most popular tourist places in the city.
History of the ensemble
The Hazrati Imam architectural complex includes mosques, madrasahs, and a mausoleum. One of the buildings houses the Quran Museum (entrance here is paid). The ensemble was built near the burial place of the first Tashkent imam Abubakr Muhammad ibn Ali Ismail al-Kaffal ash-Shashi. He was one of the educated people of his time.
The Barakhan Madrasah is located in the western part of the Hazrati Imam complex. Now inside this building there are souvenir shops — here you can buy national clothes, paintings, and various souvenirs from Uzbekistan.
Not far from the madrasah, there is a square where you can relax and hide from the scorching sun.
If you go here, you can add to your route a walk to the Chorsu Bazaar and the Kukeldash Madrasah, as well as an acquaintance with the Center of Islamic Civilization. Entrance to the territory of these attractions is paid, but if you want to save money, you can just take some photos at the facades of these buildings.
