Tashkent TV Tower
The Tashkent TV Tower is one of the symbols of the Uzbek capital and the tallest building in the city. Travelers can walk around this grandiose structure or go up to a height of about 100 meters to take a look at all of Tashkent.

The construction of the 375-meter-high tower began in 1978 and lasted for seven years — the high-rise structure was put into operation in January 1985. During the years of its construction, the tower was the tallest free-standing structure in the entire region. Wikipedia says that now this record has been broken by the 420-meter chimney of the Ekibastuz GRES-2 Power Station.
At two marks of the tower, at 220 and 100 meters, the structure is encircled by multi-story premises. The observation deck is located on the lower one. It offers a 360-degree view — visitors can look both at the residential areas of the city and at the high-rises of the center of Tashkent.
Since December 2012, bright illumination has been installed on the tower. Now the structure is clearly visible from different parts of the city even at night.
The tower is easy to reach by metro: you can get to the "Badamzar" or "Shahristan" station and walk. Near the TV tower are the popular tourist establishment Beshqozon and a walking area by the canal.
